One of the top joint replacement surgeons in India, Dr. Manu Sharma is well-known for his ground-breaking techniques and outstanding patient results in knee and hip replacements. Dr. Sharma graduated from esteemed Indian universities with an MBBS and an MS in orthopedics. With fellowships in Joint Replacement (FIJR) from top institutes in Germany and Australia, he expanded his knowledge and incorporated international best practices into his work.
Dr. Sharma developed his expertise in high-volume joint replacement surgeries early in his career. He performed over 5,000 procedures at Shalby Hospital in Ahmedabad, more than 9,000 procedures at Shalby Hospital in Surat, and 1,000 procedures at other centers — bringing his total experience to over 15,000 joint replacement surgeries. He invented the minimally invasive technique for knee and hip replacements that revolutionizes patient care by allowing for 15-minute surgeries with little blood loss, minimum bone cuts, and quick recovery.
Dr. Sharma increased his scope as Chief Knee Replacement Surgeon at Shalby Multispecialty Hospital in Adajan, Surat, by doing surgery abroad in the African nations. His efforts established Surat as a center for orthopedic medical tourism, drawing patients from all around the world with great success rates in trauma, difficult revisions, and robotically assisted treatments.
The Khabarchhe Innovator and Trendsetter 2025 Award and the Times of India Health Icon Award 2019 for “Emerging Joint Replacement Surgeon of South Gujarat” were given to Dr. Sharma.
